6 Easy Ways To Upcycle A Tee Shirt

Why toss old tee shirts when there are many fun and easy ways to reuse them!

Restyle it.

If you’re familiar with the 80’s--think Flashdance--you know what to do. Reshape the neck.  Cut off the arms. Crop it!   Knits don’t unravel so cut all you want.  Make it a masterpiece.  We think this Vote Green tee looks great as a tank top!

Stuff it.

If your dog deconstructs his bed, save old tees to restuff it.  For extra fluff, cut many shirts into strips before stuffing.  Hand stitch, or fabric glue the bed case back together where needed.

Pillow it.

If you sew, turn a tee inside out. Stitch the sides at the armholes, and across the top at the shoulders.  Turn right-side-out and stuff a pillow form in through the bottom. Stitch the bottom of the pillow case closed from the outside.  If you hate needles, use fabric glue!  This Palomino Ranch tee pillow would look great in rooms with a western vibe!

Clean with it.

The super absorbency of cotton wicks away dust and grime. Build a collection of tee shirt rags.  Cut them into various shapes and sizes for different jobs--dusting, cleaning car upholstery, applying wood stain, drying wet pets.  The possibilities are endless!

Wrap a gift.

Tuck in the sleeves.  Put your gift inside the tee body.  Fold the top and bottom underneath the gift/box, and add a ribbon or string to secure it.  We think this Love Your Mother tee makes awesome wrapping paper!

Trade it.

Have a tee swap with fellow tee shirt lovers.  You get something "new to you" and they get something new to them.  It’s a win win!
